Lead me Higher
The other night I was sitting outside looking up at the African night sky. So beautiful. It was a bright night, like many, and the clouds were steadily drifting across the sky. The frogs croaking loudly in the fields and the cool breeze coming in from the Atlantic Ocean. As I sat in amazement I asked myself why does this massive God who has created all this beauty that surrounds me love me so much. I am far from perfect and I am constantly making mistakes but his love remains unwavering. It’s a love that is there when things are tough and I need it most. It’s a love that I cannot put into words, but can easily feel. So I just sat there, thinking how blessed I am to have this love. Undeserving but so thankful.
I have been in Ghana a little over two months and I have done so much. I have crossed bridges high over the rainforest, fed monkeys, seen crocodiles, swam in a lake with the largest waterfall in West Africa, eaten exotic foods, and I am learning a new language. I have made a ton of friends and grown very close with a lot of them. It has been a blast. My experience with Christian Life Mission Church has been awesome. The church is very kind and they clearly love Jesus.
Things are still hard though and being a foreigner is tough. I am constantly getting pushed out of my comfort zone. And I never fit in. There has been highs and lows but through it all God has been with me. I am growing daily in my walk with God and the joy I have is crazy. He has surrounded me with the perfect people in the perfect place. And I am constantly in awe of it. Daily, there are many distractions, but I pray that I remain focused and disciplined. Continue to pray for me. Continue to pray for my friends. And continue to pray for Ghana.
I will be giving a live update on my experiences here in Ghana via livestream into LifePoint Church on Oct. 23rd for both services. God is doing great things and I am very happy to be a part of it.
