Healthcare that Works
Having the opportunity to intern at the Tree of Life Medical Clinic has been great. I work in the finance department with the Accounts Officer, Sir Charles. Sir Charles has been very patient and helpful in teaching me many things that I have been learning in the classroom, but have never seen in practice. I have been helping at the clinic just about every Wednesday since I’ve been in Ghana. I enjoy being there and the staff has made me feel like I am a part of the team. The staff is hard working and is fully bought into the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the Clinic.
Tree of Life was started in January 2014, with a goal to provide quality, affordable and client centered physical, emotional and spiritual healthcare. The staff is comprised of 13 full time and 10 part time employees. Serving 2,578 patients last year. The Clinic is not lacking vision either. Some of the goals for the future include expanding the facility, provide 24-hour service, and conduct in-home visits.
I recently interviewed some of the staff at the clinic to try and understand the impact Tree of Life has on its patients, staff, and community. Speaking with the staff I quickly confirmed what I already knew. The staff takes pride in working at a place that makes a difference in people’s lives; physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I am very blessed to be surrounded by these people. Please pray for Tree of Life and that it continues to bear good fruit.
